  • No matter if it’s all about business or pleasure, Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has all the information available on his website. Beside measures for washing our hands wearing a mask, avoiding crowded places and staying at least 6 feet one from another, an interactive world map is presented, stating COVID-19 travel recommendation by destination. It’s most convenient, as it uses a 4-level system of risk assessment, as well as one level unknown. It might be for the purpose of U.S. citizens only, but it sure includes absolutely all countries worldwide, gathers all information up to one place and it’s quite useful, rather than check each country separately.
  • Another great breakthrough is the mobile app, launched by the international Air Travel Association (IATA) – union, which consists of 290 airlines worldwide. The travel pass, which eventually can be paper-based for people that don’t own a smartphone, will allow governments and airlines to digitally collect, access and share information on the status of individual passengers’ Covid-19 test and vaccination.   • The EU is also concerned about the present situation and is in a process of admitting digital green certificates, in use for EU member states, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. QR code with a digital signature is implemented, as to verify the authenticity, integrity and validity of the certificate. 

Depending on its owner preferences, it will be in digital or paper-based form, in order to spare any inconvenience and will make free movement easy as a safe proof that the passenger is either recovered from COVID-19, vaccinated or received a negative test result. So again, vaccination is not a precondition to travel and all human rights are not being violated and are completely secured here. 

It is important to add only the results of so-called NAAT tests (including RT-PCR tests) and rapid antigen tests are eligible for the certificates purposes. However, Germany and France already stated their issues over data privacy and social discrimination, so it’not sure whether the whole project will be embraced by all EU member states. 

Adoption by the EU parliament and Council  will be the further  steps in the procedure in the next few months to come. Since the UK, USA and any other 3rd party citizens are out of reach, the World Health Organization (WHO) has promised to create an international trusted framework. European Commision is also sure to be working in order that the certificates are compatible with systems in third countries outside the EU, and that it will encourage other countries to recognise the Digital Green Certificate when lifting restrictions on non-essential travel.

Travelling is the most common way of spreading and getting coronavirus, and therefore making it available only to persons that have some sort of protection against it, is essential. But if you can’t possibly delay it and stay home office, you just have to be prepared for all that’s going to happen, as every country seems to have its own restriction and every airline is yet in a trial process of developing a permanent decision. 

Governments and global organizations are already working on it, and it’s all a matter of time when there’s going to be a digital transport, suitable to everyone. We’ve been patient enough to wait for the COVID-19 vaccines in Baden-Württemberg to come, and now it’s time to give it a chance on global efforts for implementing international travelling rules.

A Post-Pandemic World. The Future of Corona

 One year after Covid-19 in Baden-Württemberg began its relentless spread across the world, the contours of a global order reshaped by the pandemic are starting to emerge. Just as the virus has shattered lives, disrupted economies, and changed election outcomes, it will lead to permanent political and economic power shifts both within and among countries. To help us make sense of these shifts as the crisis enters a new phase in 2021, here is an interview that I found with the author of “The Coming Plague: Newly Emerged Diseases in a World Out of Balance” Laurie Garrett:

  • “What do you think, Laurie, the future might look like in post pandemic world?”

 Firstly, we have to begin with: what is going to be left of our world after covid, what would be the nature of how we all function? I believe a couple of things would have changed, certainly my many years of struggling to have the issue taken seriously in national security circles will no longer fall on “deaf ears”, now everybody gets it, but do they understand the appropriate measures to take, that’s a different story.

  • “Does everyone get it, and if they do, especially political leaders, do they understand it well enough to be able to do the right decisions”?

  I think right now(Laurie speaking) that conversation cannot be had ,  at least not in a useful way, but 2 or 3 years from now after CoVid had swept around the world multiple times after we’ve seen devastation and it targets populations all over the planet and perhaps we have mass vaccinations and eating outside then perhaps this will be a very different conversation and the level of sophistication or understanding will be higher, because the costs will be huge, not just loss of life but permanent economic restructuring of everything that we call capitalism, this is going to be so profound that there will not be a single sector of society untouched by this pandemic , there will not a single activity that goes on as it once did , so will they get it? -Yes and No. They will get it in a sense that there will be support for early warning systems, there will be a reappraisal of the sort of multilateral system of the UN (united nations) w-h-o and so on there will be a very large restructuring of all the programs related to development out of the World Bank the Bretton Woods agreements and I think every single government, even auto crating ones, oligarchy is with mass theft and corruption, we’ll see that it’s in their interest to not have another pandemic.

  • ” What would be our best hope, and what would be our worst fear for post- Covid world?”

  It’s about economics. It’s really not about if people do have PPE’s, (personal protective equipment)I can see a virus coming, I think that the level of shake-up in our global economy is going to be the most serious challenge, civilization has faced in over 3 or 4-hundred years, we have to go all the way back perhaps even to the great mortality the Black Death of the 14-th century to see something of the scale of what we are about to go through. We are at the very beginning of this, so you have to cast your imagination, but here in New York we have 25% unemployment and this was instantaneous, most of those jobs are not coming back, I don’t care what people think “coming back” is and what re-opening is and as we go through cycle after cycle of the spread of this virus so that it recedes everybody catches their breath, there’s some economic restructuring, businesses re-open, virus comes back again and again… Until ultimately, we come up with a viable strategy to really stop the virus in its tracks, which is almost in definition going to mean an effective vaccine and so I fear it could lead to an even greater expansion of the wealth gap so that the same small cluster of people have been getting wealthier and wealthier, since the 2008 financial crisis, will now get even more of the wealth by shorting in the stock market, by investing, basically against the economy. This I think could result to a kind of a world, that would almost seem to stifle opportunity for the average person. So, my hope and my fear – the fear is that we end up in an economic place after all this worsens all the attributes of the 2008 financial crisis that have proven so horrible that affect populism and nationalism and the retreat from globalism. My hope – the reverse, the flip side of that – that more and more of the public will organize, more of the middle class or what once was the middle class will say “Hey, you know, we have professional skills, we have education we’re not the unwashed masses of the French revolution, we are the educated masses upon which your wealth depends and we demand a new kind of structuring of the economy, a new kind of structuring of the WORLD”.

 This is an interview with Laurie Garrett about the world after CoVid , recorded almost before 1 year from nowadays. And as we see the world now, she was right for the economy, that it is not build the way it meant to be. The rich and wealthy people become even more rich depending on the middle class and their skills, who, in fact stay in the same place in the economy ladder. In my opinion, the only part that is little exaggerated is that the threat is like the Black Death of 14th century, I think that she was affected of the initial outbreak and the % of the sick people, but now we have adequate medicine – vaccines and aerosols to negate the virus, we use hand sanitizers and we just need to keep in mind that this is a group project, for all the people in the world, we have to work together, to co-operate and come over this crisis.

 Now it’s been more than a year since the coronavirus first crossed our path, we’re certainly more than sick and tired of all the restrictions, lockdowns, opening and closures of almost everything that’s possible.

But when circumstances force us to be adjustable and turn our home into a working place, then it’s different. Nevertheless, it isn’t as difficult as we thought it would be, is it?

In fact, it appears making your home your castle is not as easy as it may seem, but either way there are some pretty good clues to follow, that bring a successful professional, even if it is a home-office based one.

First things first – the most important thing we should do, while working from home, is protect our health. That means we have to protect our eyes, back and neck, because we certainly don’t want them to cause us any additional trouble.

Second thing you need to do, is setting certain boundaries to your home office. Now that sometimes turns into a serious obstacle, because not everyone has the space enough to make such.

  • In pandemic times doors are needed for a reason, and escaping distractions really means choosing a separate room to call it an office, even if it was used for a different purpose through the weekend. If not that, you can at least choose a separate corner of the room, equipped with everything that’s absolutely necessary to keep things going, as they were in the real office. That’s when a functional desk is essential and cupboards are in tremendous help to hide things, that you don’t need all the time and will limit your movements and distract you.
  • In order to do that, you have to think of simple ways of setting up your furniture right. This basically means your screen must be at such a distance that’s comfortable for your eyes, and prevent you from any eye strain and staring at the screen. Your office chair must be really an office suitable one, since this is definitely not a few hour situation.
  • Blurry vision, headache and dry eyes can and should be avoided by adding an extra-moisture to the room, by a humidifier, or at least by making regular breaks to open a window in your home-office. Support the need of fresh air either to your body, as to your room, considering that good ventilation is supposed to be one of the COVID-19 preventing measures.
  • There’s a 20-20-20 rule in ophthalmology you might stick to, like looking 20 feet away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds. Artificial tears are also an option to keep your eyes good moisted and provide any unnecessary discomfort.
  • Color psychologists say yellow and orange are actually great colors for the office, while yellow is supposed to be stimulating to think outside the box and come up with new ideas, and orange seems to promote creativity. However, try not to get surrounded with any harsh, heavy or dark color schemes, and avoid any distracting patterns.
  • Computer glasses are here to help too, plus there are a few freeware programs that automatically calculate recommended colours on your display, based on your location, and the daylight that comes to you, creating illumination that supports a space’s identity.
  • In fact, a research from Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering shows that in companies with a high standard of interior design, productivity can increase by up to 36 per cent. So, why not apply that general rule successfully to your new, productive and here-to-stay, home office?
  • Although setting a physical boundaries is a priority, setting a mind boundaries is also vital. Your body just needs to know it’s a working situation, not a relaxing one. So before teaching your children daddy/mommy is actually working right now, which is not so easy to believe and achieve, set the pace for work in your brain.

While everyone has their own unique household dynamic, bringing in the office atmosphere can be a completely different thing. Expert’s advice ranges from taking a pet or a plant to care for, rewarding yourself, or wearing a working suit to choosing whatever music you like to keep you as much isolated of all kinds of distractions.

You know how when life gives you lemons, you should make a lemonade. Now when life gives you the possibility of working from home, do it a favorite place, that’s not different from any office. After all, it’s your home we’re talking about and you can adjust it on your demand just fine.

  1. Moderna.

Pros:

  • Consists of  2 shots, one month (28 days) apart in the muscle of the upper arm. Each dose is 0.5 ml. Each vial contains up to 10 doses.
  • 94.1% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people who received two doses who had no evidence of being previously infected.

Cons:

  • Recommended for people, aged over 18
  • Mild to moderate side effects, like fever, muscular pain, tiredness can occur within 7 days after being vaccinated.
  • Storage and shipment must be at temperatures  between -25ºC and -15ºC up to 6 months, can be stored in a standard refrigerator up to 30 days and refrigerated up to 12 hours.
  1. Oxford-AstraZeneca.

Pros:

  • Consists of  2 shots, 4 – 12 weeks apart in the muscle of the upper arm. Each dose is 0.4 ml/0,5 ml. Each vial contains up to 8/10 doses.
  • 84,2% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people who received two doses .

Cons:

  • Recommended for people, aged over 18
  • Mild to moderate side effects, like fever, muscular pain, tiredness can occur within 7 days after being vaccinated.
  • Doesn’t require any special storage. Can be stored in a standard refrigerator up to 6 months, up to 6 hours after vials opening.
  1. Janssen Johnson & Johnson

Pros:

  • A single-dose vaccine, put in the muscle of the upper arm. Each dose is 0,5 ml. Each vial contains up to 5 doses.
  • 66,1% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Cons:

  • Recommended for people, aged over 18
  • Mild to moderate side effects, like fever, muscular pain, tiredness can occur within 2-3 days after being vaccinated.
  • Doesn’t require any special storage. Can be stored in a standard refrigerator up to 3 months, up to 6 hours after vials opening.

However, if you have a severe allergic reaction to any ingredient of this vaccine, then it’s not an option for you. In most countries, the decision among the 4 finalists is not entirely in your hands, and only getting a vaccine, available at the moment, is vulnerable. 

Reaching the global herd community against coronavirus is only possible only if we all participate in the whole process, and although it’s still a long-term goal we’re all looking forward to it.
